“St. Mary’s Catholic Parish School provides a Catholic environment that instills academic excellence while preparing the whole child for life-long personal and spiritual growth.” (St. Mary’s Student Handbook p. 5)

St. Mary’s School began to take shape in 1947, and the school opened in September of 1949 with four classrooms.  Six years later, four more classrooms, a library and more students and teachers were added.  Benedictine nuns from the Monastery of St. Gertrude in Cottonwood, Idaho were the first teachers and staffed the school until the 80’s.  St. Mary’s students began wearing uniforms in 1960 and continue to wear uniforms today.  St. Mary’s entered the technical age in 1995 with a generous bequest from the Carl & Wilma Miller Fund.  We are proud of our 55 years of service to the parish, community, and to the Diocese of Boise.

St. Mary’s has an optional full day kindergarten program that began in 2003 that is very well received by our parents.   We also have a year-round licensed day care program called The Student Enrichment Program that cares for St. Mary’s students after school, during vacations and all day during the summer months.

We are embarking on our next 57 years and are guided by our Vision Statement:  “Academic Excellence in a Catholic Community”.
