Get To Know Your Parent Teacher Organization
WHO WE ARE: The members of the PTO are all St. Mary's School parents and teachers! The officers of the PTO for the 2016-2017 school year are:
Please feel free to contact any PTO officer if you have an idea for fundraising or to find out more about opportunities to get involved!
WHAT WE DO: The PTO's function is to raise funds to bridge the gap between tuition revenue and the operating budget of St. Mary's School. Entrusting this effort to the PTO rather than raising tuition keeps the St. Mary's tradition of academic excellence affordable for all families and presents an opportunity for each of us to contribute to the good of our whole school community. Our goal for the 2016-2017 school year is to raise $75,000. We can do it!
HOW WE DO IT: Our parents and teachers invest sweat equity as well as monetary and in-kind donations to raise funds through fun annual events including St. Mary’s Uncorked, the Christmas Bazaar, and the Ball and Auction. The PTO also promotes community building through events including Trunk or Treat, the Father/Daughter Dance, and the Mother/Son Dodgeball Tournament. Other ongoing PTO programs include the Scrip Program, Box Tops for Education, Campbell's Soup Labels, and the After School Activities Program. Each family is required to provide at least 25 hours of volunteer hours toward this effort. Volunteering for St. Mary's School is time well spent with great people for a great cause!
WHEN WE MEET: The PTO will usually meet from 3:30 - 4:30p.m., on the first Thursday of each month, in Room D of the St. Mary's Parish Center. All are welcome to attend to learn more about what we do and how to be involved. If you have a fundraising idea or a related issue you would like to discuss, please contact PTO President Ron Goodwin about getting on an upcoming agenda. We hope to see St. Mary's School parents, grandparents, teachers, and staff at our meetings!
