Activities St. Mary's Catholic school has several different programs / activities.
Special Programs: St. Mary's Kindergarten Program includes:
The Student Enrichment Program is also available for all St. Mary’s students both after school and through the summer from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. This program is licensed by the City of Boise as a day care provider.
St. Mary’s PTO Activities Program provides opportunities for our students to grow socially, emotionally, and academically in a fun, non-traditional, Christian environment. It provides classes at all age levels of interest, excitement, and growth for those who choose to participate. Classes are offered before and after school at St. Mary’s School. Treasure Valley Catholic Schools Athletics & Academics Program : Students in 7th & 8th grade participate in all sports with other students from the Boise and Nampa Catholic Schools. This program also sponsors academic Decathlon.
Sports : 5th & 6th grade students participate in Basketball and Track and compete with other teams in the Boise School District; AAU, and Y-Ball Basketball is available; Optimist Football Program is available for 3rd -6th Grade; T-Ball is available in the spring for the K-3rd grade students.
Competitions : National Geography Gee, Science Olympiad, Science Fair, History Day, Spelling Bee.
Liturgical Dance/Honor Choir : St. Mary’s has the King David Dancers that assist with special liturgies throughout the year. There is both a 4-6th Grade Honor Choir and a 7th & 8th Grade Honor Choir that performs at our Fall and Spring Concerts, special Liturgical events in the Treasure Valley. The Honor Choirs do both religious and secular music.
Student Council : This group reviews and coordinates all charitable requests or disaster appeals and promotes school spirit and good citizenship throughout the school. Sponsor the monthly Food Bank collection and annual Coat Drive, Red Ribbon Week Activities, Catholic School’s Week Activities. They meet twice/month with their student advisors.
Learn & Serve Grant provides funds for a coordinator and supplies to promote Service-Learning which is a teaching methodology that enriches learning by engaging students in meaningful service to their schools or communities through careful integration with established curricula. The Seventh Grade Class and Mr. Bob Graff, teacher, and Mrs. Lisa Kelly, Learn & Serve Coordinator are the Advisory Council that gives student choice and student voice to the goals of this program.
