Spirituality of st. Marys Catholic School
St. Mary’s School welcomes and respects all Christian beliefs
in our
school. St. Mary’s is a Catholic-centric school and we educate our
students and practice our Catholic faith every day in many ways.
Morning Prayer
Each morning at 8:10 we meet as a student body to say a morning prayer or sing a prayer song, recognize birthdays, give any special announcements and say the Pledge of Allegiance. By coming together once a day as a student community and sharing prayer, we all feel more connected spiritually and it’s a great way to start the day!

Sacramental Preparations
Our 2nd Grade class will prepare and receive Reconciliation and First Eucharist during their school year. While both sacraments are taught by St. Mary’s Parish after school hours, our 2nd Grade teacher also covers all elements of these sacraments to ensure our students are fully prepared and knowledgeable.
Weekly Mass
Each Friday (with few exceptions) we come together as a school to celebrate Mass. Each grade takes turns throughout the year hosting mass and coordinate everything from readings, to alter servers to songs. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to share in this special time with us.
Collections for the Needy
Throughout the school year we collect food, blankets, gloves, clothing, toiletry items, etc for organizations that help those in need (i.e. Corpus Christi House, St. Mary’s Foodbank, etc.).
Homebound Friends
Each class at St. Mary’s School adopts an elderly homebound friend. Throughout the year classes take care of their homebound friend in a variety of ways including visits, sending note cards, inviting to mass and praying for their health and well being.
Rake Up Boise
Each fall our school participates in the annual Rake Up Boise project. This is a city-wide project designed to help the elderly and physically challenged clean up their yards before the winter season.
