Dear St. Mary’s Families,
Welcome to the first week of school. The staff and I have had a great few days planning for your return. Please remember supply drop off is this afternoon from
1:00-3:00.
It is an exciting time to be at St. Mary’s. We have many positive and remarkable things happening this year and in the future for St. Mary’s.
St. Mary’s School is to provide a Catholic environment that instills academic excellence while preparing the whole child for life-long personal and spiritual growth, empowering them to become global citizens.
Tomorrow is our first official day with our 1st through 8th graders. It is a half-day with a noon release. We will start the day downstairs for prayer square at 8:00 am. If you are available, we welcome all parents, grandparents, or other special relatives to join us.
Friday is a holy day, The Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We will have our first school mass. Please plan on your student(s) wearing mass day attire. Please know, if you have not been able to acquire all of your uniform attire, we are flexible and understanding.
Monday is a normal day for our 1st through 8th grade. It is the first day for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten. They will have a 12:00 release. Pre-kindergarten will have half days Monday through Wednesday next week.
Next Tuesday, August 19th is our Back to School night at 6:00 for parents. It is an opportunity to hear about the school, opportunities to get involved and meet the teachers. We hope you can all join us as we get back into school-mode.
Saturday, August 23rd is the first social event of the school year. We will begin with a student-led mass at 5:00 Saturday evening. Immediately following is the PTO sponsored Back to School Bash.
That’s enough for now!!! I am not trying to overwhelm anyone. A simplified calendar is listed below.
Please join me in welcoming our new staff members. Some are new and others are in a different position.
- Brooke Maritt – School Counselor
- Erin Heffner – 5th Grade Teacher
- Roan Bernal – 4th Grade Teacher
- Megan Grant (Soon to be Megan Roof) – Instructional Aid
- Sara Garr – 3rd Grade Teacher (through October 17th when Ms. Jones returns)
I am excited for you to get to know each of them and see what a wonderful addition they will be to our St. Mary’s community.
St. Mary’s is in an excellent position as we start the 2025-26 school year. We have 40 new students throughout the school. We have an energized and excited staff. We have tremendous support from our families, parish and Fr. John. The future is bright for the Spartans!
